Printable Paper Christmas Tree for Kids & Dolls

What’s so great about this holiday craft for kids is that it can be customized to your family’s liking. Would your kiddo like a pink tree? How about puppies and kittens for ornaments? Use that holiday spirit to craft something special! Anything is possible with our free printable Christmas tree. 

First, use crayons, colored pencils, markers, or paint to color in the circles of this Christmas tree template. Each page creates one tree. Then, use safety scissors to cut the circles out.

Next is the tricky part!

The key to this paper Christmas tree is to fold the circles correctly. Start by folding all the solid lines on one side of the paper, then flip the paper over and fold all the dotted lines. This creates an accordion pattern in the folds, much like a Christmas tree.

Folding the Paper Christmas Tree

1. 1. 1. 1. Fold a circle in half, along a solid line.
         2. Unfold it so it lays flat.
         3. Fold the circle again along another solid line.
         4. Repeat until every solid line has been folded.  
         5. Flip the paper over and repeat this process until every dotted line has been folded in the same way. The accordion will take shape. 
         6. When you’re done folding, shape the circle into a cone.
         7. Repeat the folding process for each circle of your paper Christmas tree and shape them all into cones, like the first.  
         8. Cut a small hole at each peak of the smallest 3 cones.
         9. Stack all 4 cones together to bring your tree to life.
         10. Feed a pipe cleaner through the holes, starting at the base. This will connect the pieces together. For extra stability, use a bit of glue at the end of the pipe cleaner, so it sticks to the top of the tree on the inside! 

And… Voilà! A wonderful tree to decorate your dolls’ home.
